Serge Zongo

Serge Valery ZONGO is a Program Officer at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations specialized agency for ICTs, where he serves as the Cybersecurity Focal Point for the Africa region.

With more than 20 years of experience in information technology and telecommunications, he has worked in both the public and private sectors, including leading interconnection and telecom organizations. Over the past twelve years at ITU, he has led key regional initiatives to strengthen cybersecurity resilience, promote a culture of digital trust, support the development of national cybersecurity strategies and Computer Incident Response Teams (CIRTs), and coordinate CyberDrills and capacity-building activities across Africa.

He advocates for a harmonized and collaborative approach to cybersecurity as a critical foundation for the continent’s digital transformation. He holds advanced degrees in Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management, and Finance.
